Google’s Free Office 365 Replacement–11 Apps in One

http://www.ditoweb.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/g-suite-tools.png

Office 365 for personal use costs $7 a month and is an excellent collection of apps. I use it almost daily and have no intention of cancelling it (I pay $10 so it can run on up to 5 computers). There is also a free version on the Web.

But, if you don’t want to pay for Office…or don’t like Office, you might consider Google’s free Office Suite of apps. In many ways, it is better than Office. There are 11 apps that integrate with each other. Most likely, you probably use some of them now.

They include G-Mail, Google Contacts, Google Calendar, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, Google Forms, Google Keep, Google Drive, Google Sites, and Google Hangouts.

These all work together and are accessed via your browser. You should also know that while the apps all work well for single use, you can set up collaboration for more than one user.  If there is any drawback, it would be that they are all web-based rather than being on your computer. It depends on your Internet connection speed if that is a drawback for you.

To learn more, you need to read our first story in the Desktop/Laptop section. It is a highly regarded Office Suite that might be worth a look.
